What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound that comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of industrial hemp or cannabis plant. It is the most widely accepted non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. CBD oil should not be confused with marijuana even though they both come from cannabis; we extract the CBD oil contained in Canna World Market products from premium grade, industrial hemp.

Is CBD oil legal?

CBD oil and other hemp-extracted products are absolutely legal to be used and sold within the United States. The growing, processing, and selling of hemp extracts – including cannabinoids from industrial hemp – is possible through federal regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 which the U.S. Congress passed and signed into law.

Will using CBD oil get me “high”?

In short, no. CBD does not contain the proper components to produce an altered  mental state. As CBD is a non-psychoactive component from industrial hemp, it doesn’t contain any elements of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is familiar with cannabis; therefore, there’s no “high” effect as a result of using CBD.

What are cannabinoids and phytocannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are a diverse class of chemical compounds, Endocannabinoid refers to those that occur naturally in the body, while Phytocannabiniod refers to those that occur naturally in several plants including cannabis.  Phytocannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds found in all cannabis plants.

What is the difference between a full-spectrum hemp oil and isolate?

Full-spectrum hemp oils are made with whole plant hemp extracts that contain all of the beneficial phytocannabinoids (CBG, CBN, and others), terpenes (beta-caryophyllene, b –pinene, humulene, and limonene), plus flavonoids, polyphenols, and other important hemp-derived phytocompounds. In contrast, some hemp oil products are made from isolate, which is just one singular compound (such as CBD) added to a carrier oil, and therefore do not contain any of the other beneficial phytonutrients or provide the “entourage effect”.

What is the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) and how do phytocannabinoids affect it?

The ECS is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids (cannabinoids naturally produced in the body such as anandamide and 2-AG), enzymes that synthesize and degrade the cannabinoids, and cannabinoid receptors (primarily CB1 and CB2) found in the central and peripheral nervous systems. The main purpose of the ECS is to maintain homeostasis in the body.

What is the Entourage Effect and why is it beneficial?

The Entourage Effect refers to the combined effect of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial compounds in the plant working together in synergy. The combined effect is greater than the sum of the individual effects.  Only full-spectrum hemp oils deliver a complete entourage effect.

How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?

CBD effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage. Because there are no psychoactive ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; however, a significant decrease in symptoms – reduced pain, calming sense, etc. – should be noticeable.  Again, results are dependent on your dosage and purpose for using CBD.

What are the commonly accepted benefits of using hemp oil products?

Digestible hemp oil products as classified as dietary supplements. And just like other supplement companies, hemp oil companies cannot claim that hemp oil will treat or cure any specific condition. Descriptive language used most commonly is that hemp oil products “may help to relieve discomfort, support sleep, support the body’s interrelated signaling systems (the endocannabinoid system), and promote an overall sense of balance and homeostasis to the body.”

Are there any side effects to taking CBD?

Any side effects of CBD are insignificant at best – nowhere near as relevant as those side effects from pharmaceutical medicines that are approved by the FDA. The most that CBD users have reported is minor abdominal discomfort or mild sedation.  Again, there’s no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so no worries about your ability to perform day-to-day duties.

Will taking hemp oil cause users to fail a drug test?

As with any cannabis-based product, there is always a chance of triggering a positive drug test depending on the amount/duration taken, the individual metabolism, and the type/sensitivity of the test. Users are encouraged to talk with their employer or healthcare provider if this is a concern.

How much CBD should I take?

Because each person’s body and health condition are unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined dosage that is right for everyone.  For severe symptoms, a higher dose may be required while mild symptoms won’t need as much.  We recommend a consultation with your doctor or health professional to determine an amount right for you.

What is the difference between hemp oil and CBD?

Although from most of what you read out there you would think that Hemp oil and CBD oil are the same things, but they are not! This is very important to understand if you want to take the oil that is going to give you the greatest benefit. Hemp oil gives you so much more than just CBD.

First, it’s essential to note that hemp oil is not the same thing as hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is extracted only from the seeds of the hemp plant typically using a cold-press. Hemp seed oil, while rich in omega acids, does not contain cannabinoids or terpenes.

CBD oil can refer to the isolated CBD compound added to a carrier oil, to CBD extracted from either hemp or marijuana, or to a broad or full spectrum of compounds in addition to CBD added to an oil. Hemp oil is more specifically referring to extractions from the aerial plant parts (mostly leaves and flowers) of hemp plants.

Our hemp oil is made by infusing organic coconut (or MCT) oil directly with the whole plant hemp material, which produces a true full spectrum oil. Our hemp oil is rich in CBD and other beneficial phytonutrients while containing only trace amounts of THC.
